A Win eluded Kenyans as Diamond League takes off

The first leg of the Wanda Diamond league kicked off over the weekend in Gateshead Grand Prix, thus bringing a sigh of relief to thousands of athletes who have been hungry and thirsty for competition.

The athletes defied the odds in unfriendly weather, punctuated with the rainy and windy conditions to produce sterling performance in their respective events.

The Bor prodigy continued with their track prowess. Hillary Bor not to be confused with his brother Emmanuel Bor (5000m) produced a consummate win in the 3000m steeplechase. The duo are aiming to represent the US in the Summer Olympics

Jacob Ingebrigtsen of Norway was in a class of his own in 1500m. The European champion won in 3:36.27 ahead of Hoare Oliver (3:36.58) of Australia. Another Australian, McSweyn Stewart closed the podium in a time of 3:37.32.
