Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo and Agnes Jebet of Kenya will be chasing the 10km World record in Valencia Ibercaja road race on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

Rhonex Kipruto (KEN) holds the men's World record in massive 26:24, registered in the same race in 2020.

 29:14 is the Women's World record held by Yalemzerf Yahualaw of Ethiopia. She attained the record in Castellon 10km  in 2022.

Rodrigue Kwizera (BRI) 26:56, Rodgers Kibet (UGA) 27:07, Birhanu Balew (ETH) 27:07, Dominic Lobalu (SSD) 27:09, and Hillary Chepkwony (KEN) 28:00 will give Kiplimo a run for his money.

In Women's race, it will not be a walk in the park for Agnes Jebet who hold a personal best of 29:26

Emmaculate Anyango (KEN) 30:01, Irine Cheptai (KEN) 30:01, Janeth Chepngetich (KEN) 30:21, Sarah Chelangat (UGA), Joy Cheptoyek (UGA) 30:26, and Yalemget Yaregal (ETH) 30:54 have exuded confidence.
